Idell Syed: if you get a bike you will find a new sence of freedom go for it
Clemmie Burkleo: The sequential gearbox of a bike is far simpler to use than the H-shape box of a car. It is just a matter of learning the principles and then practice. You will not be saving that much on fuel, but it is fun.
Mario Stricklan: You will not get proper facilities as on car, but driving a bike has its own courage. You will see the world on two wheels. The difficulty that comes on a bike is only the balancing problem and its control that include applying brake at high speed. If you will be able to learn controlling at high speed, you will be master of bike.
Rayford Speziale: Yes, go ahead and get one, but it's good that you have a car for a backup.I've driven stick shift cars and trucks all my life and thought it would help me learn to ride a motorcycle. Butt when I started my Basic Riders Course, I found that my car stick shift experience didn't help that much, exce! pt to better understand what a clutch does. l found shifting a car and a motorcycle to be "the same only different!" A motorcycle requires the coordinated use of both hands and both feet, only it's sort of backward. With a car, you shift with your hand and clutch with your foot. On a motorcycle you clutch with your hand and shift with your foot. There are other differences too. It takes a couple of weeks to get it down pat. But soon you'll be riding and shifting like it was second nature. I promise! And by all means attend a motorcycle operator's basic course. It's the best and safest way to learn. And please attend a sanctione motorcycle riders course. It's the best way to learn...Show more
Stanton Villao: Not sure about the saving money thing. My bike uses far more fuel than my car plus add the expense needed for protective gear, lubes, chains, sprockets etc slam the brakes on on your manual car and your car will skid to stop, slam your brakes on a bike and you'll b! e hitting the tarmac - riding is vastly different from driving! Yes any monkey can easily learn the controls and gears but that doesn't mean they can ride.Obviously just get a small cheap easy 2nd hand bike to start with and ride the thing, you'll know if it's for you or not soon enough...Show more
Virgil Loatman: Cons of motorcycles:When you get into an accident its "FLESH VS METAL". So chance of survival at any speedover 60mph is MINIMAL.No weather, wind, temperature protection. No storage space. Can only haul 2 passengers.Short fuel range. If your tire go "POP" @ 60mph in the middle of a freeway then that might be the last thing you have heard. Not great for long journeys.Pros:They gives you a sense of freedom, priceless! You can get a bike with the performance of a Ferrari for about the same money as a HondaCivic!Few cars can do 0-60 in 5sec. Few motorcycles that can't!Chicks seems to like bikers! Some bikes gets over 150mpg. Prius should be ashamed! Have amazing handling ability. You want to change your lane, no worries, just move! your "bottom" a little in the direction, voila! It takes 75min to reach my office by bus, 45min on a cab. On a motorcycle, 20min no problem! Conclusion:Bikes with their amazing handling ability pared with brutal acceleration, they're true urbanblasters! There is a good reason why Pizza Delivery guys use motorcycles in my area which is in the middle of a congested city!!!You're absoulutely right. Its a good idea to take MSF. Lets try it on for size first!!!...Show more
Jacinta Moitoso: Your asking a biased audience in this section. My answer is yes get a motorcycle. Don't worry about the training it is what the MSF course is for. A motorcycle is more of a life choice so pros and cons really don't mean much to riders.
Lon Pennington: The only difference is a motorcycle i a lot lighter so its not as easy to stall when your learning. Get one, I started riding when I was 16. I might suggest buying something old and cheap for your first bike because it is possible t! hat you will drop it at first. On a side note, LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A MAN! UAL TRANSMISSION CAR.thanks.....................Show more
Jesusita Dykhoff: Driving a motorcycle is the same basic idea as a manual car. The only difference is a motorcycle i a lot lighter so its not as easy to stall when your learning. Get one, I started riding when I was 16. I might suggest buying something old and cheap for your first bike because it is possible that you will drop it at first. On a side note, LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR. You are 20 years old, it takes the skill level of a 3 year old to drive a car that only has 2 pedals. No offense....Show more
Lorelei Lilburn: i'd recommend you do a bit of dirt bike riding. falling is expected there but doesnt hurt as it's low speed and soft terrain, and you'll learn a lot about control of the bike. what you wont learn is road smarts. you have to aquire new skills on the road to be safe: is this car about to turn? is this bit of road looking slippery? what's that pedestrian doing? etc. learn! ing clutch and gears is the easy bit. not getting hurt is harder.
Tijuana Tatsak: The upside of biking is you get wet when it rains!
