Launa Weingarten: You need to get the person to go with you and have the note transferred to your name. If you don't do that then technically it is still owned by the other person even though eventually pay it off. Until you have the bank change the note and title over to your name and receive a non negotiable title in your name all you're doing is paying for someone else's car. Once you have that paperwork then take it to your local DMV office to get the registration changed.
Caterina Yeargan: The web site does not say you must change your name on your registration, but that you can. However, if you try to trade in or sell your car, you might have a problem with your ID and your registration not matching. If you are planning to keep the name for awhile, I'd go ahead and change the registration too.
Jana Sakasegawa: The website flat out tells you that yes, you do need to change your information. If a cop pulls you over and the dr. liscence doesnt match the res! t of your info you'll have some issues.
Sharri Scalley: Yes. You must change you registration.
Adan Stribble: yes it needs to be changed ,what they will say if you was to get in to an accident is, its two different people, even though you know different, but to be legal about this it all needs to be in your name your using right now, then there's no confusion about any of the legal stuff, they could give you a ticket for this in some states, good luck hope this helps.
Luther Plagmann: I would say yes, But I am not familiar with your states laws.....
Miguel Densley: Yes, all documents bearing your name should be changed to your new name. It does take a great deal of effort, if it was easy, everyone would be changing their name every other day.
