Coleman Ocegueda: I am not generalizing. But I have seen kids as young as 14 on here talk down to people over twice and three times their age about different subjects.
Booker Warlick: I know some of it all. Not all of it all. I am right though. I know that much.
Marcellus Yoshimori: "If you dare to question the evolutionary priesthood in good faith..."QUESTION it by all means but it's rarely actually 'questio! ned' per se.What really happens is that religionistas DENY the evidence available and or LIE when they reinterpret it.AronRa: Scientific method: Make observation; develop or modify a hypothesis to explain observation; make predictions based on hypothesis; perform experiments to test predictions; analyse results; if FAIL, go back and develop another hypothesis; if PASS, submit results to be repeatedly tested in peer review.Creation âscienceâ method: Assume conclusion; affirm conclusion.âFact = verifiably accurate dataLaw = statement which is always true under specific circumstancesHypothesis = testable, potentially falsifiable, explanation of facts/lawsTheory = unifying framework explaining all of the above.ââAll the available evidence from any source anywhere supports permits or aligns with evolution unanimously and exclusively⦠there is no factual evidence against evolution but if there was that would not be evidence for creationism.âCreationism⦠http://one! goodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/2006/05/the_...âFor evolution to! be a fake the following conditions would have to be fulfilled:> Every university in the world would have to be in on the deception.> Every biologist would have to be a liar.> Every teacher of science would have to be in on it.> And most of the other sciences too.> The majority of drugs could NOT have been inventedâ¦> Nor would they work.âDon't forget that the scientific community's entire basis as a meritocracy would have to be pretend as well, since any scientist who *could* show evolution to be false would earn fame and fortune beyond the dreams of avarice.Which would mean that every single biologist on Earth would necessarily have to possess some really bizarre and utterly selfless ulterior motive for joining the "conspiracy".Ron Peterson: Creation Science/Intelligent Design "⦠is an attempt to give credibility to Hebrew mythology by making people believe that the world's foremost biologists, paleontologists, and geologists are a bunch of incompetent nincompoops." ! So⦠what's up with that?Xians âare really against anything that discredits their religionâ¦And evolution does exactly that. If evolution is true, then the story of Adam & Eve didn't literally happen, and if Adam & Eve didn't happen then Eve wasn't around to commit the "original sin" which means Jesus didn't need to die on the cross, and at that point their entire religion basically falls apart.â~...Show more

Jacinta Moitoso: not always
Donte Liversedge: I think your point, whatever you thought it was, reeks of envy and is so general it is meaningless. Just an observation.
Susan Rambo: No, but it gives one the tools to reason things out.A good set of tools does not make a person! a good carpenter, but practice and understanding the material will.
Bianca Lannier: SJ Gould and Dawkins disagreed strongly about the inner workings of natural selection. Both had strong evidence and good reasoning and valid critiques of each others work. Both are still highly respected. You have no idea how science works.Galileo had his "peer" review done by the church. Eulah Hugill: ... or at least a public flogging?
Wally Gower: It is very rare for me to read any of the other answers to a question before I write my own. There is a reason for that. When I simply start writing my mind is completely open to go in any direction whatsoever. Many times when I read another answer, that answer starts funneling my mind in a given direction and most of the time ends up limiting my creativity. A higher education is supposed to help us learn how to think, but my experience is that many times it ! ends up limiting our ability to think. I have had many unpleasant interchanges with various teachers, but by far the two worst ones involved English teachers. The first one was a Miss Trego. I decided to take a semester of English in summer school to get it out of the way. She did not teach at my regular high school so I had never seen her before and I never saw her again after summer school was over. Short version of the story, I wrote something that she marked wrong. I was incredulous. I looked up in the rules of grammar what I had done and they clearly supported my usage. I argued the point and she ended up telling me that she was right because she was a teacher and that was the end of it. Only that was not the end of it. Apparently she did not like being challenged by a student who had better grammar than she did. She is the only teacher who ever called me a troublemaker, but she did and flunked me.The other one was a male teacher at a local community college. I scored ! high enough on tests that I was allowed to enroll in English Compositio! n 101 even though I had not graduated from high school. I do not remember his name, but I do remember him reading something that I had written and then writing across the top of that that he did not understand it. A friend of mine who was taking honors postgraduate classes at a major university borrowed what I had written, took it to her English professor and asked for an evaluation. That professor stated that I did not need to be in that class, that I should be in an advanced honors English class instead and that the reason my professor did not understand it was because it was way over his head. That brings me to this. There is a handful of participants in this forum, including some of my contacts, who think that the fact they took certain classes at the university level makes them an expert. I beg to disagree. I believe that what their courses did was do nothing more than reinforce their professors beliefs and prevent them from considering any other viewpoint. There is one! who insists that he is a graduate of a University and feels sorry that I am not able to think on his level. But the fact is, I'm convinced that he is in maybe sixth-grade and no smarter than his britches.Does a higher education make you right? Not at all! In fact, sometimes all it does is convince you that you are right when in fact you do not at all know what you are talking about. Education is supposed to help you learn how to think, but sometimes an education does no more than getting in the way of your thinking....Show more
Shawn Lelis: it's remain ignorant or lose your job
Janean Guz: Higher education is a bunch of impressionable older kids sitting in a classroom, hanging on every word of an old, atheistic know-it-all spewing unproved or unprovable theories to believe in. This makes higher education just one more religion.
Azalee Ahrendes: What say ye?
Florencio Dingle: I think that you are only as smart as who you pick as your teacher.
R! osalba Lingner: It does unless you have a higher education than me. If! that is the case, you are only right when you agree with me.
Vida Miss: I think it's more likely for people to settle on popular ideological stances not because they are well thought out, but because they are easier to learn. The truth is typically something left all alone once the bandwagon passes by. Evolution is one of those things, but then so are many of he church's stances on that and other things.Evolutionists and churches have the same ability to be attracted to sophistic ideologies. I don't accept them if they present themselves in that way....Show more
Ellis Cellar: It's nice that you can joke about and parody your own religion :)I guess it's lucky that science isn't like Christianity.

A pot of gold, is it then? Oh, saints and begorrah! I'd love to have a pot o' gold, well it must be true then! Jayson Brod: If you dare to perform and pass the sacred cleansing ritual challenge of peer review, all sins shall be forgiven. But do you have what it takes?
Clifford Riggleman: What is evolutionary priesthood? If you are implying that evolution is a belief, that requires a priesthood, you are demonstrating that you do not understand either evolution or science in general. Contrary to what theists like to claim, science is BUILT on people trying to! come up with evidence that overturns accepted scientific theory. Ther! e would be no quicker way to become famous in science than to come up with an alternate theory to explain how the diverse biology of the the planet came about that did NOT involve evolution. Look at Charles Darwin, who went directly against the accepted view. Look at Albert Einstein, who came up with a theory that contradicted Isaac Newton. That's how science works, the best idea wins, no matter WHO it goes against....Show more
Eva Lichlyter: Yep, say goodby to future funding. You may loose your job too. Although, the energy behind the coverups is now centered on Global Warming. Scientists from prestigious institutions who have evidence refuting Global Warming are warned not to publish their conclusions without first "reinterpreting" the results.
Ninfa Asby: Ya
Whitney Saborido: It gives them a haughty attitude getting a degree, but after they look for a job, get some rejection and deal with some real struggles I think most of them even out
Alonso! Crehan: Ha ha, I've noticed that too. It is the same reason I haven't gone to college. Instead of being an institution of higher learning it is just a continuation of high school. They pump you full of information without critical thinking skills, so any time you are presented with new information that proves old information wrong you can not accept it. The problem is that most people take it as a personal attack when you tell them their information is false.
Pasty Cobbett: of course not - experience is the best teacher and they sorely lack that
Carolin Southers: If a man claiming to be God approached you on the street and told you that you were to mother the second coming, would you have enough faith to have sex with him, or would you ask for some proof?
Eli Trapeni: not always, but more often then not, yes. I always ask art students for advice for what sandwich I should buy, I never had any complaints.
Lu Tiner: It's fine to question, it's positiv! ely encouraged. But that challenge has to be based on an understanding! of what you are talking about. Sticking your fingers in you ears and shouting "la la la I cant hear you" before coming up with completely unsubstantiable arguments is not questioning - it's being willfully ignorant!
