Kris Otuafi: I'm 25 and I'm terrible at geography that it gets embarrassing sometimes!! flags, capitals.. everything. I remember when I was in high school there was an amazing game on facebook that I learned a lot from back then but it was cancelled, then I forgot evenrything I learned, of course. So, a good game plz? website or smartphone app wouldn't matter.thanks people....Show more
Inge Mclaurine: Try Risk or Fortress America, to learn the globe's various countries.
Lon Pennington: Mexican train. is a domino game that rocks. also try cranium.
Lavelle Viveiros: Pick up a copy of Carcassonne. I can just about guarantee nobody at the table will have heard of it, but it's hugely more fun than most of the "more famous" board games and the rules aren't overly complicated so most people won't have much trouble catching on. I've yet to find anybody who didn't like the game after getting them to try it. It usually runs about $20, and I seem to remember seeing ! it at both Target & ToysRUs in the past but that may have just been during the holidays, if not you can find it at hobby shops....Show more
Julieta Suleiman: There are enough card games to permit you to try a new one every time they come over for the next several years. What about gin rummy? You can learn the rules in two minutes, there's skill involved, and, unlike poker, you don't have to play for money.
Lon Pennington: Scrabble is always a good group game, encouraging friendly competition and giving you an opportunity to show off your vocabulary! Or get to know your in-laws on a much deeper (and possibly disturbing) level and try the drinking game called King's Cup. My suggestion is grab a dictionary, brush up on some vocab and kick some ***!
Willa Holte: There are many flag quiz application on google store ,try them
Elfreda Grossen: i think you have to go from room to room...thats my experience.

Elmo Tervo: Bananagrams is a great game, similar to Scrabble, but in my opinion a lot more fun!
Rodolfo Merel: There are thousands of boardgames that are so much better than what you can find in the Target/ToysRus stores. You will have to buy them online unless you have a hobby game store near you, so you probably can't get them in three days. Carcassonne is an excellent choice, but I have never seen it in any mainstream store except the book stores (B&N, Borders, etc).Bananagrams is available all over the place and is very fun and fast paced. I would definitely pick that up if they like word games. Carcassonne and Ticket to ride are my suggestions for ordering a game. I have never met someone who does not enjoy these games. If you are ordering online, Boardsandbits.com and gamesurplus has great prices. Gateplay.com is a good store for beginners to designer boardgames. Click on the new gamer tab.Turn the tide is a fu! n card game.Good luck! I hate monopoly and play boardgames as a hobby. I have over 200. There is a whole world of gaming out there that does not involve Monopoly or Poker. I hope you have fun!...Show more

Kalyn Proietto: Many people here have gone with the standards, like monopoly etc. I would say the best of that group would be pictionary (you pretty much need an even # of people for that, unless you want to leave one person out to "referee". A couple of people have mentioned geman style boardgames. I'm a guy who plays these games myself, but it may be hard to convince people (especially six who don't normally play these games.) My suggestion is to look at party games. It's easier to get someone to play a "party game" than a german style boardgame. I have found some lists on boardgame geek of some games (called "geeklists") you may want to try. Some that I didn't see on lists are WIts and Wagers and Attribut. Wits and Wagers was mentioned before! , and it's ok: it's a game in trivia format with betting. If you know h! ow to bet well in the game, the trivia part becomes less important. There is also Attribut, which is a word association game. Some of these games have popular counterparts; you may want to just try the popular games, such as Balderdash or Taboo. Oh, and I can't forget SceneIt. Very popular to watch TV and play a game after dinner. The problem with SceneIt is once someone has scene a particular tape, that tape pretty much can't be used again....Show more

Garry Ohmen: Uno is an inexpensive alternative that most people either know how to play or can pick up quickly and easily. Or what about suggesting something that gets you really involved like charades or Pictionary? Good luck.
