Elinore Schlinker: Utter rot. Ticket sales have never been higher. Uneducated people might wish to watch TV on their phones, but people who go to the theatre know what they're missing. Interestingly, cinema ticket sales have plummeted.Keep watching your phone, but don't feed us your ignorant opinions.
Jefferson Sarson: Of course not. Even with social media people want the social interaction and energy they get through live theater. It's not just about entertainment - it's about self expression and self-knowledge which will always be important. That is why theater and storytelling has been around for centuries and exists in all cultures.
Rosalba Lingner: No - absolutely not. There are new theatres opening all the time, more productions than ever, and they're almost always sold out.Every time I go to the theatre there are lines of people waiting, hoping for cancellations.Attending a live theatre performance of any kind is a fantastic experience.Almost all actors! are trained primarily for the stage, and every town/city has at least one theatre and most have dozens - both amateur and professional.I don't know what makes you think that it's declining, but you're totally wrong....Show more
Carolin Southers: Not in my part of Britain.
Isaias Badgley: I think it'll almost never go extinct, but there's no way to refute that it's severely declining. You're right, in this technology age, people have so many more choices of entertainment (not to mention it's mostly free) so they don't have the same appreciation for live theater as once existed. I think as time passes, most theater will start closing down, and only a few of the very best shows and performers will be able to continue.
